This morning we had a late start due to sore legs! It was drizzling so we changed our plans and took the subway to the shopping areas. We had a 15 minute walk to subway line 5 and then a short ride north to the Oriental Plaza shopping mall east of Tiananmen square.
The subway was clean and easy to use with plenty of English signs and the machines are had an English language option and were always available. The mall was not as big as expected but nice and full of all the expensive names brand shops. We walk up and down the Wangfujing pedestrian street, there were tea shops, hat shops, jade silk, even a Barbie booth and a Magnifique perfume exhibit.
We scoped out so many choices of food at the food court in one of the department stores that we couldn’t wait to come back and pick out something for dinner. In the end, we walked all day again and had two big bowls of noodles for dinner (and more beer).
We were worn out so we took the Subway back and to the hotel area. Before hitting the sack, we found a smoky internet café and checked in with friends and family.
