ever since i finished reading the da vinci code, i have always wanted to go back to the louvre and trace back the scene in the book. i did it last october and had fun doing it. i have been to paris 3 times already but this is the first time i have spent teh whole day in the museum. the first time was a breeze because i was in a tour group and we were just given the highlights of the louvre.
this time, i took my time and really enjoyed the arts. next time i will come back to the ones i really like and stayed a little bit more and really really enjoy them. i particularly enjoyed the incredible paintings...the wall to wall ones are awesome...and the ones by the masters.
the musee d'orsay i will post later....another one not to be missed.
i have to check the inverted glass pyramid.
the egyptian, roman, greek collections are impressive. even the napoleon room...too bad they were not the real crown jewels. not like the ones in tower of london where the real crown jewels are displayed.
if you have time to spare, it is best to start at around 10am and then explore the musueum leisurely. it is easy to navigate with the free map.
