In 2007 the entrance fees to the Prague historical places of interest, museums and galleries are usually between 50 to 120 CZK, some of the private museums are more expensive. The admission fee charged at some of the largest and most significant historical sites such as the Prague Castle (350 CZK) and the Jewish Museum (290 CZK) appears to be rather high.

Avoid!!
Taxi drivers - Never take TAXI standing at main turistic places! Trainstations, Old Town Sq. ..they are waiting for you to charge you more. Ask for price first. Use some companies like AAA tel: 14014, City taxi tel: 257257257
Approx prices...from Airport...cca 600czk to city centre
from Main Train St (Hlavni Nadrazi)...cca 200czk...its really close to city center
from Holesovice train station...cca 350czk to city centre
All mentioned prices are approx all depends on traffic and where you go in the center but differences from mentioned prices would be 10th of Crowns, NOT hundreds!
Money exchange - never change money in the street, youll get fake or different country money with no value! Use banks or exchange offices and ask for final value you get! Again avoid offices at the trainstations, airport...
Pickpockets - Just watch your pockets, mainly in crowdy places, trams, metro...do not hang your cameras, jackets over chair in outside restaurants.
Otherwise its peaceful and safe city!!!!!!!!

History of Prague
First mentions about initial inhabitants of Vltava valley goes to very deep history, when Celtic tribe come in 500 BC.
The history of the city goes back to the foundation of Prague Castle by Borivoj in 870 AD. After 894 it became the main seat of the oldest ruling dynasty of the state Bohemia, the Premyslid princes (Premyslovci). The first to leave a written record of the existence of a busy commercial centre and settlement below Prague Castle was the Arab-Jewish merchant Ibrahim Jakub, who visited Prague in 965 or 966 and described it as a town "built of stone and mortar".
Charles IV and his Golden Age
During the epoch of the Czech king and emperor Charles IV(1346 – 1378) Prague had flourished. Charles IV was very intelligent and educated, therefore lead the Czech land to the top of economic and cultural bloom. Prague was promoted to emperor residence, and political centre of Europe. In the start of his reign, in 1348, founded High school – The Charles university, where came youth of all Europe. He also founded first Student College – Carolinum (1366). Charles IV established the New Town. He appointed Matyas from Arras to conduct the built of cathedral of Saint Vitus in the style of top Gothic, which was finished by Petr Parler. Petr Parler conduct other magnifies buildings such as are Bridge Tower, Tyn church, church of All Saints. Charles was initiator of building of the Charles Bridge, which replaced Judith bridges (swept away by the flood) The Charles bridge had no sculptures in the time of its building and is work of builder Petr Parler.
Charles IV founded castle Carlstejn, which is near Prague upon river Berounka.
Ferdinand the Roman Catholic Habsburg was elected King of Bohemia (1526) and the Kingdom of Bohemia became part of the Habsburg monarchy and after the defeat of the first anti-Habsburg uprising of the Bohemian Estates (1547) the Prague Towns people lost a large part of their property and political privileges. But it was a period when culture flourished thanks to the personality and court of the art-loving Emperor Rudolph II. (1576-1612) who moved his seat to Prague in 1583 and endowed Prague's galleries with the best Mannerist art in Europe and invited the respected astrologist Tycho de Brahe and Johannes Kepler and other famous scientists. . In that time Rudolph II founded his famous collection of Arts. There were created buildings and monuments. The Royal Garden-the garden was built in 1534 and embellished during the time of Rudolf II and Ball Hall is its part.
Golden Lane - Little houses from the 16th century, behind the St. George’s Basilica, where used to live emperor’s alchemists. Rabbi Jehuda Löw ben Becael was said that invented an artificial man – called Golem, who is still hidden on the field on the Old –New Synagogue, by the legend. Rudolph was more interested in science and arts then in politics so it led to revolts and his brother Matthias took the reign. Rudolph II issued Majestat in 1609 - free faith of Czech non-Catholic walks. Rudolph II is buried in a tomb in the St. Vitus Cathedral.

This hostel was great! Would recommend it to any traveller who is looking for a fun time in Prague! We stayed in a 6-bed dorm, everything was clean and there was one cupboard for each person to lock their stuff up in. Showers were clean (although in peak times not exactly hot, but still bearable), toilets also clean and common room area also spotless (if a bit smoky at times). Best of all, the staff were really relaxed - no packing up the breakfast at 5 past 10, it just kind of sat there until everyone had had their fill. There's also safety deposit boxes at reception and a cage to put your luggage in after you've checked out. Five minute walk to old town square, supermarket round the corner (you can also cook at the hostel) and clubs, bars etc. all within easy walking distance.
Awesome hostel. No joke. Old Prague Hostel was great. We walked in and could tell it was a secure place. There is a huge cage, which is securely locked up, to store your bags in if you don't leave Prague till later in the day after your checkout. Free Internet, which is always a plus. The two people who run the place (a girl and a guy) were always in great moods and more than willing to help or answer any questions. The rooms were clean, and there were cabinets to lock up your baggage in every room with a key. Always hot water. Clean bathrooms. There was in fact a woman there cleaning around the clock. Common rooms had a lovely feeling with storage in fridges and lots of dishes. Lots of people out mingling so it was easy to meet other people. Plus, the location couldn't have been better. Right next to the main old square, and near tons of attractions. I've traveled all over Europe now a couple of times and found this to be one of my favorite hostels of all. After all, cleanliness is important! Hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!

U Zlateho tygra - LEGEND!!!
This pub is real legend among Prague pubs. Its legend among locals for its great beer and atmosphere! For 10th of years!!
When you enter any day time it will be probably full, full of local people but turists too, smoky and before you order they will put amazing cold beer in front of you without any asks!
Im not huge fan of beer but I took one aswell, I was scared to order soda water...
And meal? Traditional Czech!
This pub was favorit place of Bohumil Hrabal - legendary czech writer, Vaclav Havel - legendary Czech prezident, writer and candidate for Nobel award, Bill Clinton of course...
Favorite Dish: BEER - CHEASE!!!
In other words - a story of beer-cheese was started at “U Zlatého tygra”.
