this will be our third year to see the beachside exhibit at bondi beach...we always look forward during spring to see the new sculptures...as it happens, the weather always cooperates and bless the whole event with sun and tropical breeze...the location couldnt be better...the artists incorporate the location with the art pieces...some of them you wouldn't have guessed as exhibit because you would have thought they were part of the environment...pretty clever...there are a lot of people who travel from all over the state to see the exhibits...this event is part of teh sydney art festival for the whole month of october...so if you guys out there are planning of visiting sydney, october is one of the good months to visit...well the whole of spring and summer is always the best.
the exhibit starts at the south side of bondi beach right after the rock pool...there is a walk path that you can follow and the sculptures are located along the path and on the rocky shores...there was even one item that made it in the middle of the sea...a giant plastic ball with some art thingy inside...it was too far for me to identify...there were over a hundred art pieces on display.
what we did was to go to bondi beach...have breakfast in one of the cafes on the strip and then see the exhibit...it will take around 2 hours to 4 hours to finish and absorb the whole thing...because the view is spectacular, you can't help but sit on one of the spots and admire the view while resting...that will add a few minutes to the total time.
we had a slow lunch at bondi after the hike and just literally sat at the table and just watched people...i enjoy doing people watching...there are so many interesting and fascinating characters that you see if you are really looking...and it is fun...it is a very relaxing way of killing time.
we took the bus back to the city where we live...it was around half an hour ride from bondi beach to sydney cbd.
