Auckland and Waitomo

right, i have fallen a mile behind on this thing so unfortunately these blogs are going to be less detailed than the ones from South America. Before fliying to Aukland we had two night in Santiago, Chile, which I havent made a blog of...we just stayed in a hostel, looked around the city a bit and that was about it.

Now, Aukland. We arrived and picked up our campervan, it was massive and brilliant. We contacted Philip Dreadon our Uncle. He was at work so we dropped the van off at his house and went into town for a look around, we had the best curry i have ever had at this little pokey restaraunt that we would later discover was actually in the red light district!! When we got back we met all our New Zealand family and we talked about stuff for a few hours, mainly family. It was just me and ady at first then the other three joined us later. Our family were incredibly nice, we had a bunch of drinks and they ordered in some Hell's pizza that is probably the best takeaway pizza i have had.

Peter is a Lawyer, his wife Shona is a Physio, their eldest Kathryn was about our age and is a ski instructer and Tim and Rebecca are still at school. After an hour or so Sarah arrived with her family but at this point i was all named out, i remembered them while we were there but that was two weeks ago so i have forgotten now. Sarah was awesome as well, she offered us her basement for the night so we stayed there and in the morning she fixed us all breakfast, it was weird being in houses again and its weird in this country because everyone speaks English! Sarah pointed me out a store to buy a tent who would come to be known as Terry and I resided in Terry for the next two weeks. We all had a great time at the Dreadons, as we drove off the next day we all talked about how nice they had been. Unfortunately we were all really jet lagged, me and morel worked out we had been awake for over 40 hours so by 9pm we were all struggling to look spritely. The family seemed to understand though and they certainly didnt seem offended.

We drove down to a place called Waitomo in the morning and when we got there we went black water rafting. You get a rubber ring and a wet suit and they take you down into the caves where you jump off mini water falls, see loads of glow worms and a fossilised whale, and if you are us have lots of water fights. From there we drove to Rotorua the same day so we arrived late, me, aka and JP went in the natural thermal spa in the caravan site and then we all went to bed pretty early.

It's great to read about you're time in New Zealand but it would be nice to see some photos too. Not that I'm criticising! Have fun when you're in Australia!

It is great when you can stay with family and/or friends. There are also lots of nice places in NZ.
And hey! your first name is my son's name and your last is my maiden name! Enjoy the rest of your travels.
