Helicopter ride over Glen Helen, MacDonnell Ranges & Finke River

We were lucky enough to get the chance to go on a helicopter ride!! Our pilot was an american named Forrest...he was cool. Our whole tour group had to wait for my Mum and I to finish the ride, but it was our tour guides who suggested it to us in the first place... we didnt even consider it till they mentioned it to us! the ride is over a little road house literally in the middle of nowhere in the area called "Glen Helen". When it rains heaps it floods all around and you are isolated in this teensy weensy roadhouse. It was almost storming and a little windy so Forrest was a tad skeptical about taking us up....but he finally succumbed! The flight was about 15 mins which seems short but it was definately long enough for me!
The Macdonnel Ranges were right next to where we were taking off from so Forrest had to be careful as there can be massive wind drafts next to mountains, causing you to fly straight in to them.
