Visiting friends in Edinburgh and taking in the sights and sounds of bonny Scotland. Or something like that

I'm on my way

Sheffield to Edinburgh by train is a decent enough journey but not one I'd like to make at rush hour!

I hadn't realised though that it ran along the coast once you get past Durham.  The track wends it's way along the cliff tops allowing you to look down upon the windswept beaches as you pass above them.  It's also a suprisingly long way fron Newcastle to the Scottish capital!

It is interesting what you learn even near home.
