Awesome KL!

September 3rd 2008, we left our 56 m2 apartment, and moved into a 77 liters backpack. Starting in Tanzania, we're planning to tour around the equator the following year, with the goal of not crashing our rental mopeds into either cows or market stands. Wish us luck!

Awesome KL!

Such a great city!

The capital city of Malaysia has nearly everything, there's loads to do, loads to see, and the shopping... don't even think about it. Very dangerous place for a long-timer on a budget, for sure! As elsewhere in the country, the cuisine is varied: Chinese, Indian, Malay, Western. We had to try it all, and as a result, all the weight I lost up until now during my travels came back. With interest.

Spendt a day in the KL bird park and the butterfly park. It might not sound like the most ineteresting things to do, but I'm like a small child when it comes to this kind of entertainment. The colours of the birds are amazing, and walking trough a beautiful place surrounded by huge butterflies... Well, it's my kind of thing.

I'm also a huge fan of everything that lives under water, so a little excursion to the aquarium was compulsory.

It's really a good one to, though waaaayyyy pricy. You can't go shit cheap every day I guess.

Petronas towers on the other hand, is free. You just have to get there early to get a ticket, but I wanted to get up early to get a proper look at the city anyways. Windowshopping, riding the monorail (so futuristic, love it!), eating ice cream and having coffe at Starbucks when the rain comes. It rains a little bit in KL every day they say, but it's only for a little while in the afternoon, and then you need a coffeebreak anyways!

The nightlife was awesome, though expencive, so we had to settle for just a few nights out. Maybe it's not to bad, you get enough alcohol when you're backpacking anyways!

We are not really city people though, so we felt like getting out of the city for a day as well. Took the bus to Batu caves, a really nice Hindu temple in a cave. And heaps of cute monkeys around, you gotta love them :)

I really wish I had more time to explore KL, so I'm coming back as soon as I can!

Hi I love KL , I live in Penang but KL is just such a good city to explore, not many main"TOURIST" sites ,but that is part of the charm.

Please come back and explore more of Malaysia some time. Nice review.
