Nature's Voices, can you hear them?
It is said that our souls are a reflection of nature itself, what say you? I find that I'm lost when it comes to the defying phenomena of nature. This year I have concentrated on the SUN (the rising and setting of the same), but I will tell you right now that the sun can not compare to the glory of Nature (which to me is creation's work) But who is the creator? Do we doubt the existence of a creator? How can you possibly? I have traveled to all corners of the earth except one. I have seen things that could blind me easily and yet the awe with which nature shines is immeasurable. My challenge is for all to recognize that there is a creator and his handwork of NATURE is nothing that we can contend with. As I have researched nature, I have found it to be the most serene environment, yet people build mansions and castles and hide in there in hopes of finding peace. Those who are afraid lock themselves inside as if to block off the fear.
"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quiet, alone with the heavens, nature and God.
Because only then does one feel that all is as it should be and that God wishes to see people happy, amidst the simple beauty of nature" (Anne Frank)
"Man has been endowed with reason, with the power to create, so that he can add to what he's been given. But up to now he hasn't been a creator, only a destroyer. Forests keep disappearing, rivers dry up, wildlife becomes extinct, the climate ruined and the land grows poorer and uglier every day". (Uncle Vanya).
Nature in it's raw form is a wilderness that is untamed: as wild as was always meant to be. The wilderness is that part of nature where man himself is a visitor who does not remain. Human habitation is limited and the nerve to develop each and everything seen is far removed. The wilderness is the dwelling place of the untamed, the uncorrupted, and the innocent, the aggressive, the NATURAL!
"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings.
Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you... while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." (John Muir)
"The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration" (Claude Monet)
"Who has not found the heaven below Will fail of it above. God's residence is next to mine, His furniture is love." (Emily Dickinson)
"The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent upon it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do" (Galileo)
"To me a lush carpet of pine needles or spongy grass is more welcome than the most luxurious Persian rug" (Helen Keller)
It is SAD then that we try to destroy nature in modern life.
I could not put it any better than Henry Thoreau put it; "If a man walks in the woods for love of them half of each day, he is in danger of being regarded as a loafer. But if he spends his days as a speculator, shearing off those woods and making the earth bald before her time, he is deemed an industrious and enterprising citizen." How so true the way we think? Hoe displeasing to they eyes of the Creator. Did you know that in 1992 a total of 1600 senior scientists from seventy one countries signed what is called a " Warning to Humanity" , which stated that:
"Human beings and the natural world are on a collision course. No more than one or a few decades remain before the chance to avert the threats we now confront will be lost and the prospects for humanity immeasurably diminished. A great change in our stewardship of the Earth and life on it is required if vast human misery is to be avoided and our global home on this planet is not to be irretrievably mutilated.
"
I got this information from Dave Pollard's environmental philosophy, creative works, business papers and essays. (The Truth about Nature: How to save the world). Did you know that the nature of
