met up with jeff, too!! for dinner at a thai restaurant...in a house!!
diving is just...wow. wow wow wow.
the guide we went with suggested that andrew and i go off on our own from the group. cuz i'm new and all. super!
it was frustrating getting down because i was having problems equalizing, but once i did..wow.
andrew was a really encouraging diving buddy / guide the whole time.
i wanted to slow down / stop when i was swimming underwater, but i had a lot of trouble doing those things.
next time i go diving, i'm definitely teaching my buddy ASL! diving sign language is great, but there were things i kept starting to sign in ASL and then remembered that it wouldn't be very useful...
the first dive (my first dive!!) was on the koi wreck. i really wanted to see fish, the wreck, sea horses...but i was so caught up in just being underwater and trying to move and breathe and all that, that i didn't really absorb it as much as i could have.
the next dive was much less difficult for me, and i saw nudibranchs and sea cucumbers and blue cod (they came up and nibbled your fingers! and apparently they'll nibble your face if you have facial hair) and lots of other cool little creatures.
my ears didn't survive completely.
...but WOW was it fun!
