tonga quarry to anchorage.

woke up at 5 for the sunrise, which we could see over the ocean right from our tent! went back to sleep and played it really slow and lazy when we finally awoke.
crazy huge UPPPPhill right when we started out (good morning hikers!).
we cooked lunch (pumpkin soup and moldy bread) right in the middle of the trail - great for people watching and greeting passers-by.
we saw the 2 germans who drove us out of the new years festival!
we also saw mattie, a guy that ulrik met in picton!
got to our campground in daylight! more crowded with tents than the festival...
more cous cous and tuna, red clover tea (not very good), peanut butter and trail mix for dessert.
i made a fire! woooooo!
the gender roles of ulrik and i are hysterically reversed: he cooks the food and washes the dishes, i make the house (tent) and the fire.

how my body is hating me:
i have blisters and bruises on my hips.
my collarbones are raw and sore to the touch.
i have blisters on the soles of my feet. (fixed with duct tape!!)
the front of my shoulders/biceps get tingly with my backpack on.
my stomach/abs fall asleep where the hip straps are.
i think my backpack is too small.

i'm having a blast!!!
