the roadtrip into the alps.

my friend and me started the trip down south about 12:00 pm we drove the autobahn south to cologne and from cologne to frankfurt and from frankfurt to the state of rheinland-pfalz - where we got controlled by the autobahn police - i mean ME because i am a foreigner for about 30 minutes.  they checked my passport and my permit here in germany. i was really nervous.. because it happened to me before in düsseldorf - because i didnt paid for the use of streettrain and the damn controller was there and took me to the police station (hahahahaha) and i dont have my passport with me, so i had to wait for one hour in the police station for them to check in the computer system if i am legal or not :D and had to pay damn 40 euros for it :D.

after that we drove straing into the state of baden württemberg - until the beginning of the black forest but have to make a turn in the schwäbische alb into bavaria. we paused and ate somewhere at the stop. it was different for me.. because bayerisch german is different from the way i learned german from school - its very hard to understand, but if i spoke high german, they try to speak high german to me too.

at last we passed the small city of kempten and i can see the voralpen (foot of the alps) already! it was rainy :( and it obstructed the view but it doenst matter! then we drove to the town of fußen, it was very beautiful! the alps are called "allgäu alpen"  not very high - average 1,500 - 2,500 meters and it has germany's highest mountain the zugspitze, was very picturesque and the feel that youre in a sorcerers lair and dragons lies beneath the snow/cloud covered peaks.

it was a hell of a ride, my friend was very exhausted because it was zigzaggy (we took the wrong route - we should had drove in munich not kempten) but it doenst matter because it was very beautiful - and near the austrian border, i saw germany's highest mountain the zugspitze - i was speechless..  and to cross the austrian border, we drove through a tunnel below the alps for 12 kilometers! i was scared, because i dont like closed spaces, i am claustrophobic.

we arrived at innsbruck in our small hostel called das glockenhaus (the bell house) at about 7 pm, the check in time should be 8:30 pm, so we had more spare time.

it was an exhasperating but exhilirating trip to drive across the alps in the bundestraße (hmmm secondary road?) zigzaggy and narrow street... but the view was............... magnificent!
