Climbing A Massive Bridge

Yesterday morning I got up and decided it was a nice enough day to go and climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. There is a company that organises the climbs and so I popped along there and got myself registered. Everything we wore had to be attached to clips so that nothing would fall off the bridge and onto the cars or people below. The climb wasn't too difficult but it went right out and over the top so we got a fantastic view of the city, the harbour and the opera house below. The bridge is nicknamed 'The Coathanger' due to it's arch design and can expand or contract by as much as 18cm depending on how hot a day it is. Our guide told us that it would take 2.5 seconds for an object (or person!) to fall from the top of the bridge into the water, but I didn't much fancy taking the plunge myself! It was a beautiful day with hardly a cloud in the sky and very windy up at the top, but we were held on by a cable that was clipped to us for the whole climb.
Today was my final day in Sydney and the final day of my whole trip. It's quite sad, but I think I will be back to quite a few of the places I've been to visit in the last 7 weeks. I decided that as I was in Australia I might as well go the whole hog and I booked a ticket to see Kylie Minogue in concert! She was playing in the arena in the Olympic Park and she put on a brilliant show. She did some of her newer songs as well as lots of her older tracks. Everyone was dancing in the isles and really enjoying themselves. I've got to be up at 4am tomorrow for my flight home so looks like I'm only going to get a few hours sleep tonight. Ah well, it was worth it!
