Byron Bay Baby!

After the horrible weather and muggy conditions in Brisbane it was beautiful further down the coast at Byron Bay. I have a couple of friends who live in the town and they very kindly offered to put me up for a few nights. Byron Bay is a great little town, very similar to a good seaside town in the UK, but with hotter, more consistent weather. Noone really needs to worry about owning a coat out here and the usual choice of dresswear is boardies or a bikini and thongs. Thongs are flip flops over here so it's all a bit confusing!
Whilst in Byron I took a day trip on the Happy Bus up to a small village nearby called Nimbin.
Byron Bay is the eastern most point in the whole of Australia so if you want to see the sun rise before anyone else in Oz, you come here. The beaches a glorious and it's very popular with surfers. I considered taking a few surf lessons, but decided against it in the end as I'm not brilliant in the water and I'd probably end up getting eaten by a shark or something, which would be very inconvenient!
Next stop Sydney and that reminds me, I really must sort somewhere out to go for my birthday next week...
