(Nat) Sat 29th Nov we are up early bright eyed and bushy tailed and have discovered the the main contemporary art museum in Brazil is round the corner so head there for a few hours of relaxing contemplation.. and me giving alex a lesson in the art movement of the 19th century.. i knew that course would come in useful at one stage!!
good news, when we return to the hotel alex´s bag has arrived!! although open and tampered with ..hmm... we head out for some brazillian grub and end up choosing something on the menu which turns out to be the main brazillian dish, rice, pork, oranges, beans and dried manioc powder with a pot of what we later discovered thanks to lonely planet was a pot of pig off cuts... including tongue!! yum
(Alex) We went out for a couple of drinks at one of the local bars. It was really lively and gave us an indication of the party spirit of the Brazilian people. While we were chilling out a Samba band started busking outside the bar. It was great, it made us realise just where we were. I gave them a handfull of coins, probably adding up to about 1 pound and the guy seemed really surprised. He did a little dance and walked on.
