the beautiful town of Paraty... and bed bugs

mon 8th dec - we arrived in Paraty, whuch us a colonial town on the east coast of brazil in rio state.

There is an main street leading into the historical center, which is amazingly pretty. All the buildings have a coloured fronts and there is cobbles on the street. No cars are allowed in and it is real peaceful. They had loads of shops and Nat was in heaven. We found a place to stay right at the entrance to the old town. ut looked a but dirty, but we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt.

We went for an all you can eat lunch, which cost 3 pounds each and was delicious!! they had loads of different kinds of meat, fish and salad. We got two plates each. greedy bastards that we are. We took a walk to the beach and drank coconut milk.

We went to bed and i fell fast alsleep. only to wake up at 4 am with nat telling me that there were bed bugs!!! She was right. We told the man who worked there and he understood, but didnt seem inclined to do anything. We packed our bags and decided to look for a new place, then realised when we got outside that there was no chance as everything was closed.

we decided to sleep on the sofa, which broke when we both lay on it. The man then suddenly decided that he could find us another room.
