to be able to get to sagada, we have to pass the whole  province of benguet. eventhough i passed halsema highway so many times in my life, it seems always new to me, with every turn of the road, it opens up to deep valleys, rice and vegetable terraces, pine forests and the high and mighty beautiful cordillera mountains.

i tried to sleep, really tried my best, but i cant, my eyes never wandered from looking out the window. because it was really beautiful. i put on my mp3 player, while the bus made those zigzag turns in the mountain road, the swedish rock band kent played, perfect for the great roadtrip!

not more than an hour passed, we drove into the town of natubleng. natubleng is considered "the switzerland of the philippines" because of the chilly climate which is true even at high sunrise, people are different there! they have rosy cheeks as its also located in high altitude! it is also the vegetable capital in the philippines! as always blessed with good weather and soil, tons of vegetables are produced in the municipality!

from the town of natubleng, one can see the highest mountain in the cordilleras, mt.
road to natubleng!
pulag which is at 2922 meters, the highest mountain in luzon island and the third highest mountain in the philippines, it is very hard to see mt, pulag in the cordilleras, as it is not so prominent because the cordilleras average height are 1500-2000 meters, but natubleng is high enough to see mt. pulag in the distance! to hike mt. pulag is one my greatest dream, its so near but yet so far!

after crossing the town of natubleng, we passed by halsema highway's highest elevation at 2400 meters!!! it was fucking amazing! i mean, the road drops to a ravine on the right side, but its avoidable to look down and hang on to dear life as on the right is the most amazing, fantastic and speechless view of the cordillera peaks! the prominent peaks of mt. tabayoc and mt.
pulag are reachable by hands! clouds covered the peaks but were dispersing as the sun touches them! then from the valley below, amazing rice and vegetable terraces were in sight!

i had been to the great alps in europe, but still its nothing compared to the great cordilleras in the philippines, although it doenst have any snowcapped peaks, the rawness makes it more exciting and challenging!

*sorry pics are wobbly as the bus ride was really really bumpy as hell! hahaha*
