a simple video of me and ben but our experience was amazing.
we enjoyed so much the scenery sailing to agho island! the ever changing color of the sea from deep blue to aquamarine to turquoise was a delight for me and ben's eyes. not only that but several islands as well! i never knew that the province of iloilo in the philippines is dotted with so many islands in the northern coast! when i was a child, i was always in the province of my father which is located in the eastern part, there, its just close to the beach and islands to hop and sail around. iloilo province put a prejudice on me as a child of a province of sugar canes, rice fields, rivers, water buffalos, coconut trees, rice paddies and all inland things hahaha, but forgive me, i was young at that time and it took 15 years for me to go back to the roots of my mother.

finally the sea became shallow and agho island was in sight! it was a beautiful small island with a sandbar, small huts for the caretakers, turquoise water and behold, the beautiful view of isla pan de azucar! i mean what more could we ask for?!!!

as the boat docked, ben excitedly jumped off! hahahahaha while i was carefully going down because i am carrying so much digital gadgets with me and my wallet was in my shorts. the touch of water in my legs never felt so warm! it was so inviting!

ben and me took pictures while the porters carry our stuff inside the small hut, manay lala was so envious of us because we have bathing gears while she didnt brought any and she said were like boyscouts prepared for the unprepared situations! of course! hahha.

i didnt waited for ben, i took off my shirt and changed my pants, together with little inday we braved the water! hahahha, oh it was so refreshing! this is what i had been missing since living in europe for a while! the warm sea in the philippines! ive swam the mediterenean in greece and the atlantic ocean in spain and in portugal, the weird thing was, both the mediterenean and the atlantic are saltier. the water hurts the eyes and the atlantic even in summer is cold for me to swim.

we had the small island to ourselves which was amazing, as there are no curious people that would look at us or vendors pestering to sell their goods and the important thing is that we can do what we want! hehehe.

while the whole troup was busy preparing our lunch, ben dove and swam too with me and little inday.
i was expecting ben to say that the water, the salinity and temperature are very different and i was right! hahaha. then ben went out of the water and took his new toy out! we bought this one at the airport terminal while we were stranded for 3 hours! an underwater protection for the camera! we looked so stupid doing acrobatic stuff in the water! hahaha but knowing ben, he gets excited everytime. then manay lala called us that lunch was ready! there we have lots of seafood galore, rice, ripe yellow mangoes and watermelon! i devoured the giant prawns and a big slice of watermelon in a second while talking with my mouth full then headed back into the water!

i was burned so badly while we camped at the mountain peak a week ago, and i was glad i can take off my tshirt so that the tan would even out but it still didnt! argggghhhhhh.
the earth is round! really!

then ben and me went out of the water and explored the sand area of the beach. the island was so simple, there is no electricity, no source of food except fishing but the caretakers love their simple life. then me and our cool captain had a nice chat! and i was suprised he knows how to speak cebuano! the dialect of the eastern islands where i am able to speak! so we chatted in cebuano about the group of islands surrounding agho, but i was curious about the island of isla gigante. he said that there is a cave there believed to be a dwelling of a sea nymph! ohhhhh i like it! but the island is bit far from agho, and if we go there we would arrive at night! oh well! there is always the next time! and i will go there!

then i saw a big hole and i looked at it and saw lots of crabs inside! i asked what it was and one of the porters told me that its a simple trap for crabs, if they fell, they would never see the light of day again as theyre gona be cooked hahahaha.
ben molesting the crab.
he said to me he can take them out if we want, so the younger guy took one them ALL out, then 2 crabs came running around and i laughed at the porters because they ran around too, scared of the crab biting them! hahahahaha hahahahahaha but then, one crab was so shy, it was just sitting in the sand and knowing ben he would never pass a chance to molest these poor little creatures hahahaha.

after having so much fun in the island and spent the whole afternoon there, it was time to go home, tomorrow is our flight back to manila, but it was still at 8pm, so we decided to spend the morning until afternoon at guimaras island!

but before heading back to concepcion, our host, the salcedo family gave us another tour! we sailed the surrounding islands! oh we  would never ever ever forget ther hospitality to us!

back in concepcion, i asked manay lala how much everything we would pay, but manay lala said we wont have to pay anything! WHAT?!! are you kidding me?! then i approached the daughter of the mayor and asked her how much! i mean, ok it would be offending if i persist and naming a price, but i felt so embarassed! but she wouldnt hear me and said its all for free! oh my god! the food, the boat, the porters and the island! it wouldve costed us a fortune but it was all given for free! i am the luckiest person on earth! hmmmmmmmmmm well.
passing another island before agho.
. i am spoiled in iloilo afterall! hahaha

going home, the daughter of the mayor took again the liberty to bring us back! i cannot stand my embarassment and for the last time, i asked how much but they just waved me away! haha how could them?!!

and we were so lucky because as soon as we left the town of concepcion, heavy rains came. but we were snugged inside the van that never felt so warm. again the stereo played the tape over and over and over again, but i never felt good in my life and actually humming to one of its songs! hahahaha im nuts!
