i sat again on the front and in no time, we were heading deep in the the province of iloilo, away from the coast.
after an hour of driving, we came across to a town called pototan, hahaha, i still remember the layout of the town! it didnt changed for 15 years the last time i saw it! the tricycle station, the big plaza, the market where i used to eat batchoy! the only thing that was added where signs of internet cafe!
but my excitement didnt stopped there, as its still a bit far from the town of pototan, the farm is located in a small barrio called capul-an.
when we reached the point that the battle truck had to make a turn, it couldnt anymore as mud was impossible for it to drive over! the battle truck gave up! ahahahaha. but then, one by one men came to help us. they work for the farm of manay boogie which was adjacent to us. then manay boogie's brother, the father of palangga, which i havent seen for such a long time - tio diego, came down and drove the battle truck himself as palangga couldnt maneuver it in the mud anymore. then i was opened mouthed as ben came down the battle truck and helped the men to push the truck! ahahahaha.
after some agonizing minutes! they pushed the truck succesfully! but it wont be able to go on much further, so we have to walk to the farm nin the mud, well i was a little bit worried because we still have tto go to the airport and they ask there to remove including slippers, and its a bit embarassing coz it will be covered with mud! ahahhaaha
after that, ben's feet was really covered in mud! ahahahhaa so we went to manay boogie's house and i was surprised as tia helena, mom's sister and manay miling - manay boogie's mother was there too! i greeted my aunt and manay miling hugged me so tight! oh she aged so gracefully. the twinkle in her eyes were so obvious and she got a bit teary when she saw me! it has been a long time since i was there.
after ben finished hism ountain dew softdrink which he really like! we went to the farm, it was still a bit far and we have to cross other people's rice paddies to go there. ben was sooo excited crossing over the rice paddies! because he felt that, that experience is really asia. so he has all the rice paddies to cross and choose from! hahahha he was so suprised that he thought i cant cross rice paddies, but i did it with ease! ahaha he struggled for a bit but he perefected it! and he really said: lauro take a picture of me crossing the rice paddy.
we reached the farm, and it was... amazing, im lost for words as it has been wow.. more than a decade that i havent visited it. tia rebecca, tio rolando and my cousin ruben greeted us! as usual family matters ahaha but i just couldnt leave ben alone. so we excused ourselves and i toured him around! he was in disbelief of how huge it was. ahahahaahaha - ok i dont want to brag it in here, but ben wanted to work there! ahahaha i told him he is very much welcome to work in the farm, just say so and hes in.
when we were back in the bamboo house, my uncle - tio rolando offered him a wine made from coconut, because ben really insisted that he should try it! and he did and he was polite to say he didnt liked it! ahahahahaha
after some conversations, it was time to go! i thanked my relatives and wished them well for taking good care of the farm.
so we went back to manay boogies house, picked our bags and headed to the battle truck, i couldnt believe that the workers offered to carry my backpack and i told them i wouldnt to look like a wimp! ahahahaha i have to carry my own bag! lol! ahahaha.
it was already sun down! were heading off to the airport back to manila!
