it was raining in manila, i was not surprised as they said a typhoons coming, so were flying out of it as far as we can! as the plane already ascended higher into the clouds, i felt a sigh of relief! manila and the surrounding areas were covered in heavy and thick clouds! as were flying out, sky was becoming clearer!
we got ourselves of usual boredom by fingering (hahaha) thing inside the plane and our seats, there arent any interesting things to look at except for the window! which was so amazing with the sun setting! then came the island of panay, which iloilo province is located, one of the many seven thousand islands in the philippines!
its been a long time since i was in iloilo! 15 years ago! i felt that i dont have any connection to this island, because firstly, i dont speak the dialect which is hiligaynon dialect, i was thought more cebuano, the dialect of the the eastern islands which is the dialect of my father.
but i was actually surprised that i am inside the plane bounded for iloilo! my excitement cannot be contained as it was.. i dont know! weird mix of feelings, i dont know much about my cousins nor my relatives here, only my aunt whom i always visit in germany who was also at the same time as me in the philippines, and forced my butt to book a ticket to iloilo! hahahaha
as the plane neared it's destination, i havent had the slightest idea that panay island was mountainous! clouds cover the tall black bluish peaks! it was heaven for me and ben as both love the mountains!
then sunset came, it was beautiful with its pink, blue and orange light just in the horizon.
the airport of iloilo has been moved to a bigger, more modern and new one in the town of santa barbara, it was not anymore in mandurriao district of the capital, iloilo city, a bit far.
i sent an sms to my aunt saying that weve already landed and just waiting for our bags. it took us millions of lightyears just to get our bags! arrrrghhhhh.
when we came out, oh no, the sir taxi people came to us! and asking us taxis! ahahaha but then my aunt was waving her arms! and i came to her! and greeted each naturally the european way of kissing the cheeks twice but before that i lightd a cigarette! ahahha oh its so amazing to be in iloilo! the hiligaynon dialect is very beautiful! so sweet and so pleasant in the ears! i think its the most beautiful dialect in the philippines in my opinion!
i introduced ben to my aunt to ben, and my uaunt introduced my nephew which would be our driver and then showed us the big family car - no a truck! for us to use in roadtripping the island! a massive one thats really good for rough roads!
so we put our bags inside the truck and my nephew drove us to iloilo city - the capital of iloilo province, where my aunts sister, already reserved a restaurant for us to eat! oh my!
