Our hotel room.
So we spent a weekend in Naples
. We took the train down on Friday and got in really late. Thank goodness we decided to grab a taxi because we never would have found our hotel otherwise. So I used Venere.com for all our hotel arrangements, which was great, no problems, I mean it was our own fault we were poor students and went for cheap rather than luxury. So anyway, we get dropped off by our cabbie and we're looking around for our hotel, and we can't see it anywhere, but we know it has to be there somewhere. So we pass a prostitute and her client on the way to this gate. We see that the hotel name is on there, but all the buttons are gone so we can't buzz in.
The window protection.
So we're standing there trying to figure out a way to leave when someone from inside the gate is leaving and they let us in *phew*. Hard part being the fact that the gate door doesn't reach the ground and we had to lift our luggage over the strangely designed metal thing that gapped the space between the door and the ground. Well then we had to walk through this alley to find our hotel. It was on the 5th floor, and the elevator cost money to use, and it only fit like 1 person in it. Caitlin was going to use it, but it wasn't functioning. So we lugged our bags up 5 floors and finally arrived at the hotel. We got checked in and the hall looked really nice and we thought we had struck gold. Not the case! We got to our 4 person room and it had a bunk bed and a double in this tiny closet of a room! But at least we had our own bathroom. The really scary part was the fact that at night you could hear people yelling at each other, we were in the University part of Naples so it wasn't the safest, and we had window protection (for theives or the weather?). In any case, we slept and got ready the next day to head to Capri.
