My dad thought this was funny...
My dad came to visit me in Florence
, which was really cool. He came by train from Milan
and he was there for our group's last night in Florence. He was really tired since he had flown from Minneapolis, traveled around Milan fora few hours, then took the train to Florence. I think he was awake for over a day! In any case, once he was settled into his teeny hotel for the night, he came to say hi and took a picture of some of us on the steps of the Duomo. We made our plans to meet up the next day and I spent the rest of the night eating gelatto and playing cards at the guys' apartment. Talk about fun times! I wish I could go back! The next day I took him to all my favorite places. I told him to skip the Duomo...I didn't think it was that great and he couldn't climb the dome anyway. We went to the Uffizi, the Accademia and Santa Croce all in one day because we had our pre-ordered tickets...yay! He was glad we went to Santa Croce, and I definitely think its more worth it than the Duomo if you have to pick. We went to the markets, which was one of my favorite places to go in Florence, even if you didn't get anything. He got to meet Rene and Ramone (who were very family friendly I might add). My dad also got this great tapestry of Florence (I already bought my own of a Medieval scene). The markets are also where we rub the nose of the pig so that we'll come back again....I daresay I will!
