Trip to italy by car
July 23, 2005
Early in the morning we left from Rheden to go to Italy. This is the road we usually take. We took the Sauerland route. This highway is not so crowded as the other two big highways. We drove towards Ulm, Memmingen, Kaempten (Allgau) Nesselwang, Pfronten zu Fussen. We stayed there in a very nice and friendly Hotel. The next morning we drove further towards Lermoos and than the Fernnpass. This is a very beautiful way to drive. The views are wonderful, the nature is so great! Than we drove to Insbruck. We had to take the Europabrucke. When you have crossed this bridge, you will find a monument for the people who have died working on this bridge. It is very sad, but several people while working, have been fallen into the pilar of the bridge. It was not possible to find them back, because the concrete covered them. So forever they will be burried in these pilars! This is a very special bridge. This will lead you into Italy. This is called the Brenner Autobahn. You have to pay tax for it. The first big city in Italy is Bolzano, than you will drive into Trento. (Trentino) Follow this road to lake Garda. And leave by exit Affi. You are almost in Sirmione. Wonderful to enter this area.
