Garda

Garda is in the summer a very nice place to visit. They organize lot of festivals there

Garda is located at the east side of Lake Garda in the Region Veneto. When you enter Garda from the south side you will see a big rock. I always knew i was close to Garda if i saw this rock. It is called Punta di S. Vigilio. Garda is also an old city because the palazzo dei Capitani and palazzo Fregoso are from the 16th century.

When you visit Garda half of June you will be able to join the fishermans festival. They celebrate the catch and they prepare it on the main square and sell it! It seems to be a big event. My experience with Garda is a reminder of festivals, lots of music events, with real good artists.

You are also able to visit the Monto Baldo. You can reach the top of this mountain by funicular. Take good care of the weather before you will go up. THe weather can be very spooky at lake Garda. Once it is sunny and clear, and the next moment everything is blowing through the air. Boats are smashed up the wall, and the water is gushing into the shops. I remember that 2005 was an extreme year, i have never seen so little water in the lake. The boats were lying almost in the middle of the lake. You where not able to use the landing stage, you had to use a stepladder to climb to the beginning of the landing stage. The sulpher well was dry!  Only yellow hot stones. No water at all. Of course the well gave some water but it run into an almost empty lake.  Never seen something like this before!
