Since Mark (Travelman727) was arriving today and we had dinner planned at Caramba's, Silvina and I decided to spend a leisurely day around the pool and beach, trying to work on our pitiful tans! Today was also Mike and Michelle's 25th anniversary and usually we do dinner out with them at Caramba's so it worked out perfectly!
Silvina and I got up relatively early, enjoyed breakfast at the bar with everyone and then retreated to our respective chairs by the pool! It was a gorgeous day and one to get a good bit of sun. It turned out to be an even better day when the beer distributor showed up and I got my case of Belikin delivered! :D We went up early to start getting ready so we'd be on time when Mark showed up at 6:45pm.
We said our hellos and decided to try and cram in the golf cart which turned out to be interesting. Silvina sat up front with Mark while the three of us tried to squeeze in the back. Mark has a bit of a lead foot while driving so we got some air over the potholes and dips which left me with a pretty nice sized bruise on my left hip! LOL. We got to Caramba's and we were ready to chow! I was starving and ready to eat the entire menu at that point! :-)
As always, had to order my Michelada drink which Mark about gagged on when he tried it.
Mike and Michelle had talked to Eileen, the owner of DandE's while on a smoke break outside and she said she'd wait for us to finish dinner and also we could sample whatever we wanted. OMG....I was going to be in heaven! Not sure how we missed this place every year considering we dine at Caramba's at least two times every year!! :-) Eileen was super nice and there was another couple in there we chatted with for quite some time and had our own little party going! We sampled a number of flavors, all of which were yummy, and I settled on her Halloween flavors.
We then made a quick stop at the store for Silvina and I to buy some rum and juice to have drinks back at the room during the week and then we dropped Mike and Michelle off at the hotel since they were not up for a night of partying. Ok, here is where things get interesting for the night!!! LOL. We decide to stage a TravBuddy photo in the golf cart which involves Silvina taking the pic of Mark and I - well.....she goes around to the front of the cart as Mark is turning it on...I told him we don't need the cart on as we take it and next thing you know, we are going fast, out of control, almost running over Silvina, and headed straight for the bushes and wall.
My adreline was pumped after that and certainly in need of a stiff drink after that! We were going to the Roadkill Bar to watch Dennis Wolfe (Mark's idol) perform but he wasn't playing that night. We went across the street to Crazy Canuck's where we need most everyone else was. Mark bought the first round of drinks while we talked to a couple who was down for their 1 year anniversary who ironically were from Southern California.
About this time, up walks Russell and his friend Giovanni who decide to hang with us for a bit. Silvina and I are ready for something more stiff in the way of drinks after watching this chick expose herself on the dance floor after humping the pole. Yes, you read right. Apparently it's called Punta dancing and no way, no how, will my body ever move like hers did. If I tried to shake like that, I would break something for sure!!!
I told Silvina I would get us a drink and Giovanni went with me to pick something out. We settled on an interesting shot which ended up being rather yummy!!! It's called the Cunning Linguist and if you say it fast, well you know what you get! LOL I can't remember all the ingredients but it was banana liquer, amaretto, and something else.
While we were hanging out watching the Punta Boys perform and the crazy chicks dance, I spotted braids on a guy out of the corner of my eye. Eeeeeeeee....It was my favorite pirate, Jack Sparrow, from the other night. Jeff had told me which braids were really his so I was excited to see him out of costume....he actually looks quite the part. I told him some of my friends wanted to see what he looked like out of costume so Silvina and I took a pic of him and I together so I have the costumed Jeff and the real Jeff! LOL.
We had a fun night and next thing you know, the bar is closing and time to go home! Silvina and I had to get up early again in the morning as we had our all day snorkel booze cruise to go on.
We got upstairs and were lounging around getting ready for bed when there was a big knock on our door that scared us to death. Silvina was the brave one and went over asking who it is and it was Mark! LOL. Apparently the gates were locked at his resort and he couldn't get in. We got security next door to help and he took Mark back over to figure out what the deal was...apparently Xanadu locks their gates at midnight due to golf cart gas thefts! By this time though, Silvina and I were seriously wide awake so we hung out and decided to go for a late night swim. As we were downstairs hanging out, our friends from the police dept got off work early (they normally work like 10pm until 4am) so they sat out for a bit and talked to us til we were freezing and ran back upstairs.
