Panda Express & The Bellagio Fall Garden
All votes for Panda Express are met with aggreement...that is except for my stomach hahahaha!@! I usually try to eat "sensibly," so that when the time comes, i have the leeway to eat "well!" Panda Express however, hardly fits into my definition of food, or even sustenance. Eating "well" has meant for me in the past, eating such extravagances as Goose Intestines, Pig Ears, Spicy Fried Frog Legs, Escargot, Duck-Bacon Aumlettes, Crab Sashimi, Raw Horse, Grilled Bear, Blowfish, Skewered Sparrows, Stir Fired Duck Tongues (in Paris, Yum!!), Proscuitto Wrapped Stuffed Chiken Breasts, etc. Truth be told though, it wasnt half bad.
The Beijing Beef seemed to be something new, and the texture & consistency was quite favorable.
The battered Beef stayed chewy & crispy, even in heavy red sauce, which wasnt too sweet or salty. I woulda eaten a whole bucket of the stuff if given the oppertunity. Good thing the styrofoam trays only fit so much hahaha. Beijing Beef = good. The Orange Chicken was another matter though. The batter was completely soaked though, moist and breaking off into random pieces as one pokes at it with one's chop sticks. The flavor is neither orange, nor sweet, nor sour, nor citrusy. Still a mystery to me what the initial attempt was, but Jenn assures me that the Orange Chicken in LA tastes great, perhaps the NV desert has sucked all the flavor from the dish. Orange Chicken = bad
The green beans in the String Bean Chicken Breast were cripsy & refreshing.
I liked them here much better than the garnish on my ribs from the night before. String Bean Chicken Breast = good. Fried Rice = dry as hell, but we've had far worse ^^ all in all it wasnt as painful as i had imagined it to be, though i would hardly eat here voluntarilly hahaha...having said all that, i WAS quite famished so i tore into my meal like a rabid wombat and devoured it with kinda of a frenzy that i hope the others didnt notice.Sweet Goodbyes & Hardy Heartfelt Hugs...Saying goodbye is never a simple matter with this great group of giving hearts ^^ hugs and kisses and goodbyes and more hugs and goodbyes were handed around and again around as we made our way out of the Panda. The hard part starts, as everyone starts to make plans for the future, of "oh we should do this" and "oh i cant wait til we can do that" and "oh when will we have time for this and that.
" It is a very enjoyable scene for me, seeing so many sweet hearts bleeding their farewells on eachothers chests, hugging and holding tight. Gives me that warm and fuzzy feeling, i have such a soft spot for these kind of moments.I have been to the Bellagio Gardens countless times as i have made my way in & out & through my many Vegas jaunts. Sal insists that we have more than enough time to make a pit stop, and far be it for me to question the insistance of my hardy host ^^ so we make for some time to swing by the Bellagio on our way to the airport. Sal didnt tell me, but he knew of a "back door" to McCarren that was off the strip, so we bought what little time we could with the local hidden wisdom and were waved in with a smile to the Bellagio parking.
Everything and everyone seem so much happier and brighter when you are among good friends ^^.I must admit, that this is the fastest that i have ever been in & out of the Gardens. Five minutes on the dot and we are back into the car, reving off into the night from the strip, but i must say that i have not enjoyed the Gardens as much in those five minutes as i have from all previous trips combined. The shortness of time and the hurried frenzy that we are in kinda make the run-through really fun, trying to cram as much as we can into the final moments of our time together. My trip had started with rushing around Vegas with Sal, and now would end with the same haahaha!! Hows that for bookends to a perfect trip.
The Halloween theme is quite a spectacle, with a full "hanger" of pumkins and brightly colored foliage...a full canopy of festive trimmings, a portal into another world...the flowers and chili's adorning the garden floors around the exhibits add a bed of zesty reds and yellows. There are ghosts and apparitions sitting in every corner of the gigantic room, from floor to ceiling. Add to that everyone dressed to the "Nines," while we are dressed to the "days of smelly goodness & dirty trail hopping." Hahahaaha!! Everyone though, is in a light happy mood. We take turns with the other patrons trading group pictures and photo ops, flashing our smiles to glittering shutters and lit monoliths.
Back into McCarren Airport for the final show of the night, the Circus Circus that is Las Vegas airport on a sunday night.
we are lined up by the time we were supposed to take off, it was hot, but the other patrons managed to preserve their dignity and keep their cool so to speak. i actually slept for a bit on the short ride back...enough anyways to get back into ny car and crash and burn, collapsing onto my bed, though i think i got home before the girls got home to LA. posted a few thank yous and "hope you got home safes" and drifted off into never never land...although it didnt end as well as the previous night, as i awoke to the horrors of Monday morning hahaha...|
