The Las Vegas sunrise greets us with a Breath of Fire...

I think i woke up before the coffee maker was supposed to go off, but i dont know for sure because the 4:45am alarm on the coffee maker never went off, which meant that there was no coffee either hahahaha, until much later when Jenn worked her magic and congured up some piping hot coffee for us with mechanical incantations and spells (she found the brew button and hit it hahahaha!).  Final preparations got under way while we waited for the only other people who live in Las Vegas to arrive, who both subsequently got lost getting to the house hahahaha!!  かをぺき!!

The sunrise outside was amazing to see, even if trimmed by the Las Vegas suburb.  Really made the day seem magical, right from the start.

Our escorts to the Nevada State line...
Everyone was so happy happy happy joy joy joy to see one another, the energy and vibrance really got me going too.  I got quite lost in the crossfire of hugs and smiles and kisses.  With bags jam packed into trunks and flatbeds, and seatbelts buckled, we roar off into the sunrise to chase the way to Zion...which lasted about 5 minutes before we stopped for breakie ^^ hahahaha!!

I would not go so far as to say that Dunkin Donuts is the breakfast of Champions...but what i can say is that Champions can definitely dine on Dunkin Donuts for breakfast.  Although i myself no longer recreationally indulge in such national pasttimes, donuts are a nostalgic part of my nationalist spirit.  It is the one thing, that having traveled all over the world i will say that no one outside of the US can do quite as properly, as the donut.

My first meals upon my return to native soil are usually hamburgers and milk shakes, but donuts come in a close second.  I actually was quite surprised at the wide array of options on the front board...i marveled at it forever, letting everyone else go in front of me as i took in the selection.  I wanted to get just about everything to go, but settled for a toasted garlic bagel and a banana nut muffin...some errant carbs to tide me over for the road trip.  <i actually just went to the Dunkin Donuts website trying to look for my other considerations for breakfast, but they seem to have everything on it except donuts hahahaha...sad>  Watching everyone else chow down on their breakfasts was like watching a food network frenzy, live...bagel sandwiches with eggs, dripping with cheese.
The skies opens up to us from all corners of the earth...serenading the horizon as we pass thru Arizona & Utah...
..and watching everyone's faces melting and swooning...almost made me reconsider my intentions for breakfast hahahah!!  Stay strong BiG...stay strong.

VW Beetle escort to the Nevada State line...A short stop for gas (and electrolites) later, and we were off to the bosom of the southwestern landscape.  Man, ive never really paid much attention to the landscape surrounding Las Vegas, usually because we always end up driving to Vegas in the dead of the night, or we are driving from Vegas with a really bad hangover hahahaha!!  So many things to see, so many things one can miss.  The skies opened up to me as we drove through the morning, three layers of clouds: way up in the atmosphere, lower down where airplanes flew, and right on top of us.  Looked like a kaleidscope of celestial shapes and patterns painting our way eastward.

I hadnt expected to hop more than one state, but apparently i got a special treat and hopped through Arizona as well along Highway 15.  So altogether for my trip i went thru California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Arizona, Nevada and back to home sweet home California.  We passed thru such towns with exciting southwestern flavor like Mesquite, Hurricane, Virgin, Rockville, and finally Springdale, the last little burg at Zion's doorstep.
