Holiday on the beach :)
Pack, my gilr friend, and I were very daring going to Samed on Valentine's fest. Samed is pretty famous for a romantic island for couple whether you are straight or not. It's highly recommended to go on weekday otherwise you will bump with crowd.
Getting to Samed is very easy by bus at Eastern Terminal, only it will take 4 hrs. If you drive, it will take only 2-3 hrs max to get to Pae Pier. This trip, we went by bus so it took ages to get there, then we took a boat for half an hour to get to the island. From pier you can either walk to the beach which would take 20 mins or take a pick up cost 20 baht to get to Sai Kaew beach, the nearest one. For other beaches, you definitely have to take the pick up and will be charged more.
Since Samed is a national park, everyone will be charged for entry, 400 baht (10.5 US) for foreighner :( Anyway, it's worth paying :)
We didn't book in advance, so we didn't have much choice for accomodation.
At night, the beach will turn to be restaurant and bars where you can sit on the floor enjoy seabreeze. The seafood is really fresh. Lots of alternative style of bars; e.g. chill out with lounge music, reggae music, etc.
Later on, pub and disco will be open. I was totally drunk like a dog!!
We ended up on Valentine's day with our bachelor party with other friends. It was great though.
