Beautiful restaurant in Santa Cruz de La Palma
This is a MUST visit restaurant! it is a typical canary antique house built in the 18th century. The main entry is on a small square called "La Placeta" in the centre of the city. The rear facade of the building is part of "Los Balcones", a picturesque scenery which one is bound to visit.
The service and the food were excellent. Actually the waiter was so nice that we told her we were going to publish this review in travbuddy! So just in case she reads it..."hola! como ves cumplimos nuestra palabra!" She explained to us every dish and we could seat in a beautiful spot. Remember to go upstairs, they also have an outside bar, but the restaurant is much better. I liked it so much that we came back two days later! :)
First day I had some calamari and my friend had some tuna. Second day I had the best fish! let me remember what it was... mmmmm... "gallo" wrapping some prawns with a very tasty sauce... I would recommend you a red wine called "Níspero". By the way, for starters ordered the "Queso con mojo", it was so goooood! The bill was around 60euros, so 30€/each.

Trendy bar/restaurant in Santa Cruz de La Palma
"La B del M" stands for "La Bodeguita del Medio", which is how it is known in the Island. Today is one of the trendiest places in the Island as all politicians go there!
It is located next to the main street in town, so I recommend you to go there, even if it is only to have a beer. You can go there for just a tapa or have a big meal. I had lunch there two days in a row, as it is an excellent place to taste typical canarian food. What people do is to order 4-5 dishes and share them all. Also, ask for wine recommendation.
It was very unexpensive considering how much we ate and how good it was! It is also next to some lively night bars, and there are not too many places to go out at night!
We paid 50 euros for 3 people!

Cheapest restaurant with local food
I am still shocked by the bill!!! We had an excellent dinner next to "La Vírgen de Las Nieves", a must see place if you are visiting Santa Cruz de La Palma. It cost us 17.96€ for 2 people. We eat local cheese, salad, rabbit, beer and a dessert. I could not believe it, and everything so tasty!
As you all know, you need a car to move around the Island, so if you are in city center, you will have to drive up for about 15 minutes to get there. Everything they do is on the grill, so try typical food from the island! There you will only find local people.

Rural House with beautiful surroundings
The house is situated in one of the most picturesques zones of Santa Cruz de La Palma, very close from "La Vírgen de las Nieves". It has a spectacular terrace with views to the ravine of Juan Mayor! At night I spent hours looking at the stars and in the morning I freaked out with its views! The sunrise was beautiful, all these golden colors covering the mountains surrounding the house!
In the morning I went running all the way down the cliff until I got to Santa Cruz de La Palma. It took me around 20 minutes to go down, but I almost died going up. Actually I had to stop running and I walked all the way up. Shoot! that was tough!
"Fefi" is the owner of the place and she was extremely kind to show us everything upon our arrival. One of the nicest things about this island is the great number of rural houses you find. If you visit La Palma I strongly recommend you to stay in rural houses, the are far better than staying in a hotel with no personality!
