Best local hotel in La Palma
If you want to stay in one of the top 5 hotels in the island, this could be your best choice. It is 10 minutes away from Santa Cruz de La Palma, and 5 minutes from the Airport. The apartments have spectacular views over the sea and you also sea a black beach from there.
The service was quite nice except a couple of waiters at the restaurant. The restaurant has good views over the sea, although it is not open for lunch. From the hotel to the restaurant you cross a beautiful garden and you also find a swimming pool. You need at least 30 minutes to explore it, as it is quite peculiar. There you will find plants and flowers of all kinds. Perfect spot to discover what you can find all around the island.
It is a very quite place but you still have some restaurants and bars 5 minutes walk from the hotel. If you are looking for a lively nightlife, La Palma is not your best choice. Everything is quite slow and relaxing, and although you can still find some places to go for a drink, it will not cover your expectations! ☺ Anyhow, very close from the hotel you will find a couple of nice places to go for a drink.
If you want to stay in the high end hotels, this is a very good option. You have everything you need and you still find personality in the place. A much better option than going to a big chain hotel with no personality ☺
The apartment had a kitchen and a living room, a balcony, a room with two twin beds and a bathroom. Don´t forget to get a nice bottle of red wine and have it in the balcony around 6pm to see the sunset. Mmmm I have tried several wines and the best one in the Island so far is from “Níspero”. I paid 90 euros for the apartment + breakfast + dinner, so it is not bad at all considering that is one of the best hotels in La Palma.

Parador in La Palma
This hotel is considered to be one of the top 3 in the Island. It belongs to “Paradores” which is national brand very well stablished in Spain. The buildings from “Paradores” belong to the Government, but it is run by a private company.
The entrance is quite impressive as you drive up a steep hill until you get to the reception. The entrance has nothing special, although the people attending you are very friendly. If you have been to “Paradores” before, I don´t considered this hotel one of its best.
Actually, I got quite dissapointed by its service during dinner. Although it is true that we complained about the bread, we told them that the wine was not good and we even took photos from the plates! ☺ so yes, maybe we provoked the situation ☺ I was with a friend of mine who takes as many photos as I do, so during dinner we took almost 20-30 photos each. Next day we had the chance to talk to the director, and she told us that the night before, all waiters came to her saying that there were two men in the restaurant taking too many photos! Hhahaha Maybe they thought we were inspectors.
If you go there book a room facing the garden. They have the best views over a beautiful garden and the sea. Don´t miss walking all along the front yard, it is quite spectacular, as well as the swimming pool. The room was ok, quite big but not too comfortable. The bathroom was the best of all. I love showering with good water pressure, and this hotel definitely has a good system. Breakfast was very good although they charge 10 euros per person. The room was about 100 euros a room, so it is quite expensive if you consider the money you pay for hotels and restaurants in La Palma. The restaurant was ok but I don’t think was worth the money we paid. By the way, they have a small gym in the basement.
