The view from a hill at Moen's Cliff
I haven't been to Møn's Klint (Moen's Cliff), since I was a child in daycare. I remember being about 10 years old and going on a tour with a bunch of school mates. Me and two of the guys pretended to be professors looking for rare stones. I also remember them drinking all of my strawberry juice- it didn't matter to me, as I never really liked it very much. Almost 20 years later I was there again; this time pretending to me a little more serious. There were quite a lot of people there; most of them foreigners I think. From the parking space, we had to climb a whole lot of stairs. My biggest problem at first was to overcome my fear of heights; it's particularly, when I can look directly down at whatever's underneath me, and I feel like the earth is going to move.
So I tried to look straight ahead, and finally I was at the top. We walked on small roads, on leafs and up and down small hills along the cliff. Once I was up there, the fear wasn't so bad. I even went to the edge a number of times to take pictures (evidence is included, haha). We went about 1½ kilometres, before returning. The sight was just so beautiful. We don't have any mountains in Denmark, well except for a hill ironically called the sky mountain (approx. 150 metres), so anything above flat ground is breathtaking to me. We never went down the stairs to the beach. Many years ago a French woman was killed, while walking on the beach, when she was hit by a loose stone. They even have a sign that warns people about walking on the beach or to close to the edge, because there's a risk of loose stones or slippery ground. There's also a museum connected with the place. It costs 100 dkk (about 13 Euros) per Adult- I never really cared much about rock science, but it's probably worth it, if you do.
