La Boco. Very colourful (and great for shopping) !!

We arrived in Buenos Aires tired but our hostel receptionist insisted that we must visit the antiques fair in San Telmo.  So we took her advise and walked the 30mins to the market.  We were so pleased we had listened to her once we saw it.  It was set amongst cobbled lanes.  There were hundreds of stalls selling all sorts of things, from jewellery to old number plates.  We were in heaven becasue there were so many beautiful objects. My mum would have absolutley loved it here. Luckily we didnĀ“t have any money on us otherwise it could have been dangerous!!

On our second day in Buenos Aires we took the metro to the centre.  We were instantly hit by how beautiful the city is. We roamed the streets (including the main shopping street called Florida Street), strolled past the Catheral and wandered around some of the other attractions suggested to us by the hostel.

During our time in Buenos Aires we also visited La Boca.  This was an area of Santiago full of brightly coloured houses, restaurants and lots of tourist markets.  So as you can imagine there was a "little" bit of shopping done. We had a lovely pizza in the middle of the area and watched the world go by.

We also visited the harbour and sampled a few too many cakes!!
