A Coke In Atlanta

With my flight cancelled to Costa Rica, I was to have a day to spend in the lovely Atlanta. So what do I truly know about Atlanta? Thanks to an episode of Futurama, I knew that Atlanta is home to the Braves, not necessarily the home of the Brave. Also that it is home to Coca Cola and a large Delta hub possibly filled with mermaids and at the bottom of the sea, not to be confused with Atlantis.
Thanks to several kind people on this site, I got plenty of sound advice on the town. Unfortunately I arrived on a Sunday and too late to see many things. To make matters worse, I got terribly lost on my way to the hostel and walked well over an hour in the wrong distance even though my hostel is only a few minutes walk from the MARTA stop that I got off at.
I apparently walked past the university, the underground, CNN and many other sights including the Olympic park yet noticed none of them.
A guy bumped into me claiming to work in the hostel and said he had been looking for me. After a few minutes of walking with this guy, I soon realised he was a bum especially when we got to the hostel and he requested $50 for the 15 minute walk!
The check-in time in the hostel is strictly after 5, so I was further delayed in getting out and about but did get talking to a lovely Dutch girl who was in the same situation. She is going to work with the Patch Adams organisation or something. Unfortunately an hour of talking to me proved well too much for her as she never reappeared as agreed to head off and grab some dinner and drinks.
During those 2 hours I did meet a really sound bloke from Northern Ireland and 2 very "interesting" Americans. Before long I came up with the seemingly odd notion of moving on to a local bar for a few pints. So after much persuasion I went down the road with the 3 of them. It soon hit me that I did not like these two very very odd Americans, so I faked tiredness and left with my buddy from Northern Ireland who copied me and did the same.
So as I sat in the airport drinking a bottle of Coke, I thought, I may not have had the best day in my life, but hey, they sure do make a good can of Coke here in Atlanta...
