Of course I couldn't go to Memphis without checking out Graceland

Memories of the king

A group of us decided to take a drive into Graceland to visit the home of Elvis. The tour started at the mansion and we were guided through various rooms and it felt like we had stepped into the past. Each room was unique and gave you some insight as to who Elvis was and as we moved from room to room there was a strange sensation, like it really was the 1970's and you had just travelled through time. We walked into various rooms and halls filled with all of his gold and platinum records displayed along the walls. It was unbelievable the amount of accolades that were displayed...he truly was the king! We then walked the grounds until we reached a more solemn area...the gravesite of Elvis himself. It was richly decorated in flowers in memory of him. It was amazing to see such reverance after so many years.

We walked through his car museum where all the cars he owned throughout the years were displayed and we walked through his private plane, the "Lisa Marie". It was an excellent tour and tribute to the life he lived.
