The last time I was in Indonesia was 8 years ago. I came back just to show my girlfriend and best friends the country I was raised in. I saw Indonesia with other eyes, with tourist’s eyes. I was confronted with the social and economic problems and the intolerance of the radical movement. But I also was confronted with the beauty of this country and the kindness of it’s people. Indonesia, I wish you the best!

Gedong Sanga is not well known by the foreign tourist. But locals like to visit this park. There’s a camp site within the park where young people like to spend a weekend.  It doesn’t really look like a park, cause farmers grow crops around the temples. It’s more like a rural area with some temples scattered around. The route is only 3 kilometers hiking and if you think this is too far ;) just hire a horse. There’s also a hot spring and a little crater here. The crater is not spectaculair, but it's interesting to see how these things coexist in the rural daily live of the locals.

So if you like a combination of culture and nature, you should consider to pay a visit. It’s about 2 hours from Yogyakarta by car.

In the evening we went to Semarang to shop. There are several good shopping malls here.
