Taman Mini, Jakarta (Indonesia in a glimp, closed on Monday)
Indonesia is very diverse. Every tribe has their own culture and language (not dialect). The Indonesian language is a national language to make it possible for people from different tribes to communicate. So when you’ve seen Bali or Java, you have just seen a small part of Indonesia.
Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, TMII (Beautiful Indonesia Miniature Park) Is a park where you can see Indonesian culture in a glimp. You can see traditional houses and handicrafts from each province. Also fish, birds and plants from the Indonesian islands can be seen here. This was my first visit to the park and we liked it very much.
We went to the bird park inside the park. Some birds are really beautiful, especially the paradise bird Cendrawasih. Most birds fly around in the big dome, but some birds are kept in little cages, it breakes my heart to see that.. Suddenly we remembered that there has been some cases of bird flu lately in Jakarta, and we are in the middle of hundreds of birds. Atchoo! Whoops…
