Woke up early after my long night catching up on sleep.  Heard the muezzin from the mosque down the street issue the morning call to prayer around 5:30 AM.  This area of Thailand is majority Buddhist, but the minority Islamic influence is definitely noticeable.  For the most part it appears that the groups are fairly well integrated.  But the further south you go towards the Malaysian border there is increased tension.

The first full day on site we had a brief induction of the surrounding area.  So after breakfast Matt and I met up with Chane to fill out some paperwork, and then took the songthaew to Krabi and were shown the relevant sites/spots in town (doctors office, post office, supermarket, etc).  We had lunch and explored a bit more before heading back to the house.  We skipped Ao Nang since Matt and I had done that on our own yesterday.  Back at the house we met Mon who is to be our dive instructor and he gave us some course material and videos for our Scuba course.  We proceeded to kill the afternoon by watching a video for the course for until everyone else returned from the day's dives.
