Mangroves and mud

Arrived at the beach at 8:45 A.M.  Laem Pho is located between Krabi and Ao Nang.  Emptied the bus and onto the beach.  Not a spectacular beach especially with the tide out and a large area of mud flats before the sea proper.  But that made it easier to get in and clean.  There was also a large area of mangroves along the beach area that made for some interesting finds.

It was amaznig what we could find.  Loose shoes (always a single, never a pair), hand bags, plastic bottles, plastic bags, etc.  At one point must have found an unique current as there were dozens of plastic bags buried in a 5' x 5' area of mud near the mangroves.  More fun was rummaging through the mangrove rootsand finding glass bottles lodged in among the roots.  All told we ended up with a bit over 400 kilos of debris when we weighed in at 2:30 PM.  Included in this total was about 70 kilos of glass bottles.

It was more hot, muddy work (hottest day in Thailand to date).  Back at home it was clean up and recover.  Diving at Phi Phi tomorrow although I will be doing course work on the boat along with some introductory dive work.
