On Thursday, Melanie was flying into Lambert International at 3:20 and I was driving in from KC. Originally, I didn't think I could make it until after 5:00 but everything worked out and I was waiting for her as she landed. As always, it was great seeing the Queen again. The last time was in June but our next time is just around the corner in Amsterdam!
This entry will be short...I didn't plan much of anything on the first day because I knew we would both be tired from traveling, not to mention that we would need the rest for the next three days. After checking into the airport Hilton, we found the nearest JBuck's restaurant (Mel did a review on this) for some supper. Later, we happened upon a cupcake cafe that Melanie had on her list of places to visit. It was called Jilly's (she also reviewed this one). And then we drove back to the hotel and chatted in the lounge for a couple of hours. Mel only had one Goose drink but was still totally buzzed. I had a few drinks, but NO BABYSITTING required!!! We retired early for a busy next day...
