i dare say: the first ever biggest multicultural travbuddy meet up of 2008

2008 started really with an explosion! the first ever biggest cultural meet up of travbuddy was held in nonetheless, the most liberal city in the world which is amsterdam. organized by the two most industrious travbuddies ever known wendy and devika. there were about 30 attendants in this meet up which was held on january 27, 2008 and the list:

i had a terrific time during the meet-up! it was amazing as i said that amsterdam was so liberated - that i smoked alot of grass and got drunk drinking, well - GERMAN BEER hahahaha at the meet up!

i would like to share my first travel outside of germany for the year 2008:

i travelled together with hanie from düsseldorf to amsterdam, were both filipinos - well, she's half german and one of my very good friends as we met in 2007 and got along pretty well and decided that we should go together for the big meet up in amsterdam.

to save money, as were both paupers (hahaha) we took the regional train from düsseldorf till the border of west germany, then from there to the very first city of netherlands again just at the border of west germany (land nordrhein westfalen) which is venlo, and from venlo again a regional train to eindhoven, then from eindhoven to utrecht and then finally amsterdam! hahahaha thank god we arrived in one piece ^_^

and from there, we should go to a cafe just outside the central station to the meeting point. at the meeting point - since were asians and asians are naturally shy, we were so well SHY whos who to go in first and we basically pushed each other at the door while all the travbuddies inside the cafe were laughing and looking at us. hahahahahaha. it was the beginning if endless laughter and humor.

we ate in a restaurant organized by wendy and as the hours passed, i came out of my shell (well certainly a glass of wine helped me hahaha) and my inhibitions were gone and i talked to lots of people.

and after, we went to a bar to spend the night away, drinking, smoking and partying and a legend was born, because rub's died for a night and came back alive and kicking the next day! ^_^

it was my first meet and i never regreted going into that one.

and thanks to all the people who i met and talked to in the meet up. i dont want to mention names here (but you know who you are), but some of you became my very good friends, for life, i pesume? thank you very much and i know this will not be the end of a fantastic evening i had in the DAM. damn. ^_^
