Lake Nakuru was our first Game Drive of the trip. A small National Park in the Nakuru area, it wasn't anything like the Masai Mara or Serengeti are made out to be - more like a giant Woburn Safari Park. It was, however, quite a good introduction to the local wildlife.
With eight of us crammed into a minibus with a lifting roof (to allow better viewing), we were fighting for prime photo position. At some points it seemed a little "touristic" (i.e. "we are now heading towards the Baboons"). In the true wild, nobody knows exactly where the animals are at any time. Having said this, it was still a good day's drive and there was a fair amount to see, including Buffalo, Baboons, Flamingos (thousands of them), Lizards, Monkeys, a Rock Hyrax, Impala, Gazelle and Zebra.
We returned to camp and relaxed with a game of Volleyball, then went Chameleon Spotting with the son of the campsite owners.
Early night, because of an early start tomorrow!!
