The many long boat ,and the rip of boat that charged us 300 instead of the normal 50 baht

My great plan was to go into Burma - Myanmar-  FOR a few days just to see how things are there. I'm curious of nature, and don't skip a chance to see a new country when I'm this close to it.
I travelled night bus from Bangkok-Chumpon , then another bus to Ranong, and then a boat from Ranong to Kawthoung in Burma together with some people who went there to get their Visas renewed.
I did'nt need a renewal, just wanted to suck in whatever i could of the local culture and of course try the local dishes there.

So on the boat out there i found out that there is no ATM's in the country. And my wallet was empty of money , even my reserve 200 NKR was impossible to find.
So I just went and got my passport stamped, walked a little in the city...and then i had to take the boat back as it was leaving immediately.
I felt a bit shit afterwards as i spent like 1200 Baht on the whole trip ,and 5 hours wasted bus rides. But I was also not feeling to bad as the place looked like a real dump. The people where different then the thai's ,at least the people who i saw. They were quite dirty, and less fortunate with their looks to say it nicely. The guides told me i should be glad i did'nt spend the night as i probably would have been stalked by half the village everywhere i walked....there is'nt any white people here, nor any tourists..
