Ejoying the Ship

The next couple days we spent enjoying the ship. Stacey and Maria did the spa service. I hung out by the pool. Shannon and Derek spent most of the day playing with the other kids on the cruise. Unlike mass-market cruises, there were only about 20 kids on this cruise. The cruise line had two terrific kid’s directors who kept them entertained and busy most of the day and night. Talk about relaxing. Here is my typical day cruising during a day at sea.
If I wake up early, I will go to the Gym and then have a steam bath.
If I wake up late, I will sit on the verandah and order in breakfast while watching the ocean pass by.
Then, I’ll head up to the pool area, get a lounge chair. Read a book. Go for a swim.
Around noon, lunch in either the outdoor grill, They have a theme grill every day.
Back to the lounge chair
Fall asleep for an hour or two
Go for a walk. Get an espresso or cappuccino. Maybe and ice cream.
If I didn’t go the gym in the morning, I’ll go about 4pm.
After the gym head back to the suite
Sit on the verandah; open a bottle of wine.
Take in the sights, sounds and feel of the ocean.
Fill out the daily ship trivia quiz. We’ve won a couple times.
Watch the sun go down
Put on the Bose IPOD sound system in the suite
Take a long hot shower
Get ready for dinner, hopefully it’s not formal night. Tuxedos are a pain
Decide which restaurant to eat at based on the menus shown on the TV.
Eat a superb meal. Drink a bottle of wine
After the meal, usually go see the show, but depends on the show.
Head to the casino for a couple, few hours
Go dancing for a while
By now it is 2 or 3am.
Head back to the suite
Order crème brule or shrimp cocktail.
Can’t wait until tomorrow. Oh, it already is!
Some days I’ll go to a lecture, watch a movie, play table games with my daughter and wife, or go the observation deck and observe.
