Just started hiking as a leisurely activity.

A new interest

Before, I would only go hiking for field trips in middle and high school and I never liked hiking.  As I realized now, I would "hate" it only because I was going at the group's pace and not my own pace, which usually caused a charley horse especially on my gastrocnemius muscles (or getting a cramp on my calf muscles =P).

Now, I'm really liking hiking.  My friend would suggest hiking before as something we could do together but I always declined.  I guess eventually I agreed because I wanted other ways to exercise besides going to the gym.  I still go to the gym but I wanted variety.  I fell in love with snorkeling all over again and so I wanted to do hiking as another outdoor activity.

And one more thing...  I AVOID hiking DIAMOND HEAD as much as possible!!  Don't expect me to hike Diamond Head anytime soon, k? =)

So, here's my lame hiking blog of other hiking trails on O`ahu.  Enjoy! =P

Oh, and remember:  always have a hiking buddy! =)

Thanks! I think I wanted to hike Mariner's Ridge but I have to read up on it again.
There's one trail I still have to blog about and that's Hawaii Loa Ridge trail. I hiked that trail in November I think. Have you hiked that? I know that's not a beginner's trail but I would definitely hike it again even if my legs will be sore the next day. =D

Hello Cherry!! I live near the top of Mariner's Ridge in Hawaii Kai. There's a relatively simple trail that goes to the top of the ridge - my 8 year old nephew was able to do it. Let me know if you ever want to tackle it.
