Thurs After our brkfst, we drive to the end of the road near the entrance to the Manuel Antonio National Park, but are stopped short, something about the Municipality doing something, and are amazingly offered free parking at Ramirez cabins by an old man who says he is a "Happy Hippie" We walk the quiet beach, have a cool fruit punch in the shade to celebrate. We learn later the town was bulldozing and destroying the multitude of vendor tables, shacks that had been there for years and years without permit or permission! Back to our hotel for a swim, shower, and to La Mariposa for lunch. Fresh fish lunch still $10+23% tax etc, and still the most incredible view of the Pacific. We were the only ones there for lunch; this just blows me away. Later, I get a $6 haircut, check e-mail, and buy a plaid pr of shorts made in China. We have dinner at El Avion (started with a former military prop plane turned into a bar but greatly expanded now) after watching the sunset, and join 2 guys for drinks later David met from San Francisco. Fun time!!! Dog barked again! Some guy has jeep parked at our room, takes somebody somewhere 5am and comes back, leaves again. Love being here, but had yet another Bad nite of sleep.
