Leaving the Peloponnese

Rio-Antirio bridge - connecting the Peloponnese and mainland Greece

I have to tie a location to these pictures/journal entry.  "Patras" encompases the drive we took through the Peloponnese.

The drive from Olympia took us west to Pirgos where we jumped back on a highway (2 lane road) northeast to the port city of Patras.  Just east of there, we would be crossing the Rio-Antirrio bridge which would take us over the Corinth strait to the mainland.  The drive was uneventful, but beautiful!  We were able to drive along the coast and admire the scenery.  Once we reached the bridge, we followed the signs and began our crossing.  We had not paid tolls since we left Athens, but we did make the assumption that we would have to pay on the bridge.  We were shocked at how much it cost just to cross!  It was...well, you guess the price and then look at the picture below.  :)
