my second california trip

What happens in vegas, stays in vegas...

ok..this was my 2nd time in vegas..and probably my last time in vegas.

the first time i went to vegas was in 2006. we stayed at the caesar's palace. i really liked it, and surely was pretty amazed about the sizes of all the big hotels. but the caesar's was a more quite place, especially around the swimming pool area. that's why i decided to book another hotel for this year. we went to the mandalay bay.

the first when we arrived, our eyes popped out of our heads. ONLYYYYYYYYYY pretty girls, ....
WOW... that's vegas! well.. blabla.. we got dressed, and booked a table at a restaurant. we had a burger, just to fill the belly;) and ordered 6 caiperinha's. we really thought it would be THE night of the nights. the checked out all the bars & clubs in the mandalay.
just pretending ;)
and honestly ...they were all empty. we went to the house of blues... there were only a few couples in it. you could have counted them with 1 hand. we head to the eye-candy bar... BORING. on every table was 1 woman and 8 guys around her. the ahtmosphere was dull... and we went on. to headed over to the luxor, excalibur, new york ny, ...

if you wanna get into big crowds, you have to go the clubs like LAX, VOODOO... i can't remember all the names. but i guess these were the only places which were crowded. we tried to get into the coyote ugly bar... but as soon as we saw how only guys left the bar (alone), we considered trying another place... we really don't like SAUSAGE PARTYS! ..so our night ended at a open bar @ the ny ny. the bar was ok...but boring. lots of bored couples sitting around with their bf, resp.

gf. ... and it was pretty fun to see how everyone at the bar was bored. a couple of call girls came to us, and wanted to get laid....of course..for a good price:). it was funny for the first night, but became frustrasting the upcoming nights...

well this was our first night....

2nd night looked like the first one.

3rd night... we followed the same path... but went 1 block further;) to the MGM ...it looked abandoned at 1 a.m. !
however we met a couple of people from england...they were pretty cool. so we tried to get drunk at the excalibur hotel. but we just didn't get drunk... the mood was so dull, .. that none of us were convinced about las vegas...

at the end of the night... we met a few drunk girls... but it didn't make sense.
.. the usual small talk, and byebye...

everything looked so fake in vegas. all the girls were dressed like if they were invited for a marriage.
they all behave and act in a way, like they wanna turn around men's head... dressed very sexy, walking like on catwalk... but only blabla... i guess if you wanna have fun in vegas..you gotta have LOADS of money in your pockets. we spent like 400-500$ in 3 days, just for the food, booze, and some gambling... it really wasn't worth it..

i'm not sure if i will visit las vegas again...
it might be a good place though, if you go out with a group of 20 people...where you don't care about meeting other people... but for socializing it's really not THE place.

Mandalay Bay Hotel
Mandalay Bay :

PROS:
+ the swimming pool
+ the restaurants

NEGS:
- the location
- nightlife
- attractions

ok some of you might think that i'm exagerating. but it's my opinion...

the location sucks...it's one of the first hotels on the strip...
so you always have to walk long distances to visit other casinos.
ok you can take the tram but it only goes to the excalibur or NY NY..then you gotta get out, and take another tram, or walk again..
it took us like 20 minutes walking to get from the mandalay to the ny ny casino... and this was like 1/3 of the strip...

the nightlife was pretty boring... everyone told me that the mandalay would be a blast... we were there on a weekend... friday, saturday, sunday... we have a better nightlife in our local area in our country than the mandalay bay hotel...

attractions? every casino has a nice attraction...
mgm got the animals, the caesar's has the statue show, ny ny has the rollercoaster, ... mandalay has an aquarium where you have to pay like 15$ just to get in... that's pretty lame...

the only good thing about mandalay was the pool...however we only visited twice, always 1-2 hours... if you're only 3 days in vegas..
you probably wanna do other things than staying all day in the pool...
we usually slept til 10 or 11 .a.m. had breakfast... went out for shopping... wannted to visit other casinos, i went to the MR. O expo at the convention center... so I could only relax for 1 afternoon at the pool... too bad i couldn't enjoy it any longer...

we really didn't met any people at the hotel... the first night we were dressed a little bit more classy, ... but the following days we didn't give a shit about it...and put on our shorts and flipflops again...
if you wanna get in touch with the pretty girls... i'm still convinced that you have to own a big wallet. with lots of cash... or both sides gotta be wasted...

the mexican restaurant at the restaurant was pretty OK... we had some breakfasts at the local "diner"...which was pretty ok too... nothing to complain about...

the starlight tattoo was a good idea... it's a tattoo studio which is located on the main floor..they were having customers all day long..

the bathroom was luxorious but not as good as the one we had at the caesar's... we had a kind of whirlpool at the caesars, which was better than the regular bathtub at the mandalay. the rooms were a little bigger at the caesar's too....

i won't turn back to the mandalay again.... there are better one on the strip for sure. actually i shouldn't complain 50$ a night is almost like a present... but if you're in vegas..you want the best of the best:)
