Travel light
Rise and shine... Gosh... sooooooooooo early .... sleepy but fresh! Headed straight for the "super breakfast" - Gallopinto....just got addicted to it :)
A mini van from Selvatura picked us up and with more than a dozen American Tourists and we headed to the "cloud forest" 1/ 2 hour in a bumpy road...again :)
Got equiped with a nice orange helmet and went to the first plataform...there were around 11 cables (the biggest one was 750mts long!) that were hanging on the top of the trees.
It's an amazing experience to slide down those cables and to travel through the clouds. A cold mist hits our faces and down there you can see all the trees...here is a moment we'll never forget.
After the cables we also did the Tarzan Swing.
..but let me tell you that...after the bungee, i must say that this...is for babies :))The American tourists were nice people! There was even an 84 year old lady doing the canopy!! just amazing. And the staff was great.
After a great morning in Selvatura, we got into our Daihatsu Terios and went straigh for the Pacific Coast! We needed some sun...and salty water on our skin....after all the mud and rain and mist of the moutains
More bumpy roads...kinda getting used to drive at 20 km/h :))
4 hours later we finally saw the ocean near Puntarenas. Made a stop in one of the many beaches along the road and felt the heat :)
We decided to look for other beaches before going to Manuel Antonio, so decided to stop in Jacó Beach.
A nice beach with a wonderfull sunset. Right away we went bathing in the nice and warm Pacific ocean for almost an hour. After that went for an Imperial and some nachos on the bar by the beach....and of course, left all the lugage in the car....*wrong*After some great moments watching the sunset, we went back to the car and found out that...we we're ROUBED!! Everything was gone except the clothe we were wearing, the passports, credit cards and camera, that i was carrying with me. Thank God I had all that in my purse ... So it wasn't that bad... :)
Went to the Police, that was NO help..."sorry but we're closed. You must go to San José" . As we had a travel insurance, we decided to go to San José . Before we made a stop in the supermarket for some toothbrushes and toothpaste and all 1st need stuff :)
3 hours later, at midnight, we finally got to the capital and went to the same hotel we were before. The staff was great, arranging us a taxi to go to the police station in "barrio Mexico". They said it was too dangerous to go by ourselves.... It seemed to me that i was inside a movie, driving through the streets of the city in the middle of the night :). Again, the police was no help...
We had to go to some court that was opened 24 hours... made our statement and left (in the taxi!!). Got to the hotel around 4am...WHAT A DAY! :)
For now on, we were Travelling lighT..with just a plastic bag...
