This is really one of the world’s greatest natural phenomena. If you have the time and money please experience this awesome natural spectacle. If you have seen Niagra Falls and thought, "WOW, this is awesome", well as they say, "You ain’t seen nothing yet".
Iguazu falls is about a two-hour flight from Buenos Aires to Iguazu airport and another 30-minute ride to Iguazu National Park. The 275 falls are set in the middle of the subtropical forest, which provides a beautiful setting for this UNESCO World Heritage site. From here you can either first explore the Upper Circuit or board a small train to see the Devil’s Throat (Garganta del Diablo).
Devils Throat
This is the biggest of the 275 falls found at Iguazu. The Iguazu River crashes 240 feet to the bottom where a permanent fog is produced and sunbeams form multiple rainbows of incredible beauty. The roar of water is deafening. The view is just incredible because the footbridge takes you literally over the falls.
Upper Circuit
From catwalks and observatories enjoy countless falls as they cascade downward. The Dos Hermanas, Chico, Ramirez, Bozetti, Adan y Eva and San Martin Falls are just a few. Some catwalks are so close that you can get soaking wet if you chose. Pictures taken here are just incredible.
Boat Ride
You can take a small excursion boat up to falls. The boats hold about 15 people and they go up into the base of the falls. Obviously you get soaked, so bring an extra shirt and shorts.
You can make a quick one day trip to see the falls but a two day trip would be better because you then would be able to see the falls from both the Argentinean side as well as the Brazilian side. You can also spend a half-day touring the jungle.
