We left luxor for a short flight to heraklion. The flight will took about 4hours.When you see the nile delta changes to desert, and big clifs are coming up, you don't wanna think about it , the idea what happened if you got problems with the plane. We passed on our flight, Cairo, the piramids of gize( we made a 360 degrees turn over it, then to Alexandrië and over the sea to creta. In creta i got the summer holiday feeling.I have been to creta three times for the summer holiday,it's a great island.I planned to see some friends in the evening in the village Kokkini hani .First we had to go to the hotel, get a shower change clothes and hire a car.And then up to kokkini hani, to the restaurant "Astrix".In the three times i was on that island, we visited that restaurant all days.
After a late evening with nice food and drinks we went back to the hotel, we had to do some maintenance the next day.
We left creta for a long flight to belgium. Why belgium and not straight to amsterdam??,well we had to pick up some vip's for the last leg.For example my wife, oh yea and one of the prince of holland. We heard that the weather was very bad on our way,low clouds, cold and rain. As we left creta we flew to italy and beacause of the low clouds we had to fly very low, till the cliffs of the coast of italy came on sight,we had to make a 360 degrees turn up to get over the cliffs.Because of the low temparature outside and a out of order cabin heater, the temperature was inside the cabin around the freezing point.Lucky for us was that we took a lot of blankets with us from south africa, left overs from an air show,so we where warm the pilots up with blankets and hot coffee. When we looked outside we saw ice on front of the wing coming up, and because this was a plane coming out of a warm area,we didn't have a wing anti ice system.
After 10 hrs flight we arrived save on the airport of antwerpen, local television and a lot of people where waiting for us to see us coming in.We where almost home.
